VOYAGER 2001
Sunday 13th May - Day 3

Team spirits were high after a good nights sleep in TS Ganges SCC Boat Station.

The teams sincere thanks and gratitude are passed onto all at the Station. Safe sailing and best wishes.

After a weather report from the HM Coast Guard at Holyhead the team travelled by land back to Port Dinorwic Marina where the craft were berthed.

From left :
Eddie Westhead, Rod Howard, Steve Latham, Dave Jones, Graham Kidd
Mark Bland, Mark Harding and John Power

After last minute preparations including clearing rogue seaweed out
of the Jetski's impeller, the boats were untethered at 10.45 am
and they started the days journey by navigating the Menai Strait
towards Puffin Island, then onwards to the Irish Sea
heading for Douglas, Isle of Man.

Report by Mark Harding:

Arrived Douglas I.O.M. at 3pm
Weather was on the turn (3-4 south easterly). Worst day weather wise so far.
Big seas coming off Puffin Island and also the approach to Douglas was a real grueller.

People onboard several yachts wave to us as we passed them, we observed Puffins and other wildlife.

The weather on the island is fantastic (4 pm) and Seacat have kindly put the team into a hotel for the night.

The forecast for tomorrow is good so we will head for Troon if all is well.
