VOYAGER 2001
Saturday 12th May - Day 2

John and the Team set off from Angle at 11.15 am today after a meeting to define the route, heading for Port Dinorwic in the Menai Strait.

Sea conditions were excellent, visibility was very good.

Team spirits were high after a good nights sleep in Angle Lifeboat station. The teams sincere thanks and gratitude are passed onto the coxswain, crew and all at Angle Lifeboat Station. Safe sailing and best wishes.

Water Temp 11.1 degrees C

Hoping to see more dolphins today...

The Team arrived at Port Dinorwick at 7.30 pm.
The route changed yet again taking advantage of the smooth sea state however visibility was much improved in comparison with day 1.

We actually managed to see stretches of coast line and not just the start and finish today.
Navigating through Ramsey sound we encountered whirlpools and tidal rips which considering conditions were perfect we would hate to encounter at any other time.

The Pembrokeshire coast line was magnificent with spectacular
views of the rugged coastline.
We observed Puffins, Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Cormorants and Manx Shear waters.
The picture above shows the team navigating the Menai strait
approaching Port Dinorwick.

Securely moored alongside "Safewater 2" in Port Dinorwick Marina fully refuelled and ready for the next days passage to Douglas I.O.M.
