And so with a cheery wave disappeared into the fog
and with a bit of luck into the history books...

Sennen Lifeboat Station very kindly assisted in the launch of "Safewater 2" and John's PWC. The crews navigated tentatively in near zero visibility, the short distance back to Lands End, the beginning of an epic journey!

The "Commercial Boat Services" RIB was launched at St. Ives, once again with the assistance of the local RNLI Station at St. Ives.

The team rendezvoused north of St. Ives and made good speed towards Padstow, at which time the decision was made to fuel to the gunnels and take advantage of the smooth sea state by crossing the Bristol Channel early and heading straight for the South Wales coast.

Visibility during the day never exceeded a quarter of a mile however this was enough to enjoy the sight of seven dolphins jumping and swimming in our general direction northwest of Lundy Island.

The team completed the first day of the voyage, arriving at Angle in Pembrokeshire
at 9 pm. Sea conditions were very favourable, but sight of the coast line was hampered by thick fog (pea soup to the educated!).

The crews took over Angle Lifeboat Station well before the arrival of the Land Crew and all enjoyed the hospitality offered by the station.
